Dusting things off: Some overdue updates

So I’ve left this page to its own devices for over a year now, which is pretty bad. Okay fine, it’s awful. Perhaps this poorly drawn comic might offer an adequate explanation:

August, 2010

Clearly I’m very mature and talented when it comes to trouble-shooting. Sorry, everyone!

Several months after I had temporarily given up on the website to focus on comics, this happened… Needless to say, this year has had its fair share of distractions(albeit happy ones)! Planning for a wedding has been stressful and time consuming. I’ve learned much about myself during this process, most importantly that I suck at multitasking.

I’d like to do quick recap of several noteworthy things that took place since my vanishing act:

-An interview with friend and former editor, Tim Beedle

-Fraggle Rock volume 2 hit the shelves and has been kindly received!

-A Fraggle related interview with ToughPigs.com

-Concept work for a wonderful fantasy comic written by the talented Jake Forbes(which I can’t share much about yet)

-Work for another comic short story that I’ve also been requested to keep under wraps for now

-And finally, a contribution to Womanthology!

2011 has turned out to be very busy, and I’m excited about all the neat stuff I’ve been able to take part in! Hopefully I’ll have some more things to share in the near future. I’m going to try to be less of a stranger, that’s for sure! (All bets are off until the wedding is over, though. The heat has been seriously turned up now.)

Comic Con: The Aftermath

SDCC was quite a ride! I find myself both exhausted and exhilarated at the same time.

And as if the post con excitement wasn’t enough, Legends of the Dark Crystal: Trial by Fire hits shelves next week! To celebrate, I’ve added the raw cover for it as well as the cover for Fraggle Rock Vol 2 Issue 2 in the Sequential Art gallery. Go check ‘em out!

If I were to give a full con report I’d be typing for days, so for now I want to extend a big thank you to all the wonderful friends I got to reconnect with and all the new people I met as well! You are the ones who make Comic Con well worth the trek across the country.

SDCC Schedule plus Fraggles

Well folks, I’m shipping out to San Diego tomorrow for Comic-con! If you want to catch me while I’m out there, here’s my schedule:

On Thursday I’ll be at Jake Forbes’ booth (#O08) from 5-7pm doing a Legends of the Dark Crystal signing with Barbara Kesel and Tim Beedle.

I’ll also be on a panel! The info for that is as follows:

“ARCHAIA: THE JIM HENSON COMPANY” (covering Fraggle Rock, The Dark Crystal, Labyrinth, and A Tale of Sand)!
TIME: 11am – 12pm
DATE: Sunday, July 25th

Heeeeeey everybody! Welcome to my little corner of the internet. This is my official first post, and I feel as though I need to say something grandiose as a christening… but at this point, nothing comes to mind. I will say that I’m really excited to get this site off the ground; I’ve been wanting to do this for a long time now.

I have a lot of fun things planned, so please bear with me as I make adjustments and improvements as time goes by.

For now though, here’s a daily sketch! Having this blog will hopefully keep me motivated to churn out warm-up drawings and doodles for myself more often. It’s rare for me to do that these days.I have a penchant for drawing random monsters.
